Hej Travelers,
Hope you all had a happy holidays with your family! I spent my Christmas back in Malaga, Spain but now I'm back on the road here in Copenhagen, Denmark. Copenhagen is the capital of Denmark and during the winter it gets very little sun like Oslo and Gothenburg. Even though Christmas had already passed, Copenhagen's famous Christmas markets in the Tivoli Gardens was still going on! We walked around and had about three (or more) cups of hot chocolate with whipped cream. I also saw some peacocks, swans, and other birds just walking around the gardens. For breakfast the next day I had just one more cup of hot chocolate but it was called a “Deluxe Hot Chocolate” with rasberry sauce and marshmallows. I think that was the best cup of hot chocolate I had mostly because I had it in a café with so many local Danish people. After breakfast we walked around Copenhagen and we got to see the renaissance Rosenborg Palace and the King's Garden but because it was winter there weren't a lot of plants but a lot of pretty branches. We also visited Kastellet which is a star fortress and currently an active military area. Right next to the Kastlellet is Copenhagen's famous Lille Havfrue or Little Mermaid Statue, I guess it's a really popular statue because we had to wait in line to take a picture with her! I'm pretty tired from all the walking we did today so I'll write to you soon about our next city.
Farvel,
Flat Jacob

Hej Travelers,
Back in Sweden but this time I'm on the east coast city of Stockholm. Stockholm is the capital and the largest city in Sweden. Our first day in Sweden we visited the Old Town of Gamla Stan where we saw the Royal Palace and visited the Nobel Peace Prize Museum. We all started to get a little hungry after that but we didn't want to eat in Gamla Stan because everything was so expensive! Luckily, we found a traditional Swedish restaurant in another area and I had another plate of Swedish meatballs, cucumber, ligenberries, and potatoes. After dinner we went to another museum called Fotografiska that was showing a bunch of different photos of different celebrities. The next day we first went to an outdoor museum called Skansen because it wasn't raining at the time but as soon as got into the museum it started to rain! Despite the weather it was still a really cool museum because they had different volunteers who played different roles of what Swedish people did many, many years ago. I met a Swedish baker who made cinnamon rolls and cookies and a Swedish lady who told us about how houses looked like long ago. Right next to Skansen was the Vasa Museum which had a 17th century warship that was 98% restored to it's original condition! That was really cool except I found out that the ship had sunk on its own 20 minutes after leaving the harbor. Still, seeing a warship was awesome. After visiting all those museums we really wanted to go iceskating but the outdoor rink was already closed. Maybe I'll do it next time when I'm back in Stockholm!

Hallo Travelers,
Prosit Neujahr! Happy New Year from Vienna, Austria! I was able to countdown to the new year in the center of Vienna's New Year's Trail. First we went to Prater which is an amusement park and they had a live band and markets that sold light-up hats and glasses. Then at midnight we were right in front of the Hofburg Palace to see the fireworks that were coming from all around us at different parts of Vienna. On the first morning of 2013 we decided to join the locals and watch the Vienna Philharmonic New Year's Concert on a huge TV screen in front of Rathaus, or city hall. I couldn't believe it but so many people showed up to watch the entire concert while it was really cold outside! Since January 1st is saved to be a day spent with family, many places were closed in the city so we just had a delicious traditional schnitzel and potatoes and rested at home. I'm glad we decided to rest in our apartment because we have been traveling so much these last few days. We were moving so much I was afraid my paper pants were going to tear! After all the resting we had a very busy schedule where we visited two palaces and their international market. The first palace was called Schönbrunn Palace and we went on this tour that showed us all these different rooms that look so much bigger and fancier than my room at home. The Belvedere Palace was the second palace that we saw but it is now used as a museum and I saw a bunch of paintings made by Gustav Klimt. The Naschmarkt was so colorful from all the fresh foods they sold from around the world. The had peppers, cheeses, teas, and spices that made me really hungry when I smelled them. Well, I'm going to eat now. Talk to you later!
Auf wiedersehen,

Hallo Travelers,
I can't believe today was the last day of winter break! I just spent the last few days in Munich, Germany and here I am now in the airport waiting to go back to Malaga. Munich was another amazing city to see. We didn't know too much about the city so we went on a walking tour and the tour guide taught us a lot about the history and culture of Munich. We visited Peterskirche or St. Peter's Church which is the oldest church in Munich. Then at 12 o'clock we got to see the famous Glockenspiel clock tower ring its bells and tell us a story with dancing dolls that come out of the clock. Since it was lunch time we had a münchner or a typical sausage from Munich. The whole meal included two münchners and some sweet mustard. I usually don't like mustard but it was really delicious! After the walking tour we went to the DeutschesMuseum which may be the largest technical museum in the world. The museum is known for being hands-on so I was able to sit on a couple planes, helicopters, and even a traditional gondola from Venice, Italy. I learned so much about caves, energy, and transportation. The museum was so huge that in the two hours we were there we didn't even get to see anything past the first floor—there's a total of six floors! But I know that if I ever come back to Munich I'll have to spend about a whole day's worth in the Deutsches Museum. Okay, we are about to board the plane now and I think I'm ready for a well-deserved nap. See you soon!
Auf wiedersehen,
