figured this would be an interesting way to write about my latest travels.
Hola Travelers,
Today I arrived in Torremolnos, Malaga, Spain! The trip was long from California but I was very comfortable in my enevelope. Torremolinos is a city in the Andalusian autonomous community of Spain. The area is most known as the Costa del Sol or “Western Sun Coast” because of the warm weather and the many beaches! While I was in Torremolinos I met some Spanish students in CEIP Atenea where my Ate Clarisse teaches as a English Science Teacher. The students and I were the same age and they were very excited to meet me! During one of my many trips to the beach I got a little sunburnt because the sun was warm that day but I felt a lot better after having some traditional Spanish food called paella. Paella is typically a rice dish with plenty of seafood in it and it is very yummy! Now I'm off to see more of Europe!
Hasta luego travelers,
Flat Jacob

Hei Travelers,
We made it to Oslo, Norway! I honestly wish I brought warmer clothes because it got as cold as -12C (10F)! I'm going to be even colder now because I lost one of my socks while I was walking around the city! Oslo is the capital and largest city of Norway. It is a very beautiful city with so much freshly fallen snow. The city is pretty big so we used their tram system a lot to get around. My favorite place in Oslo would have to be Frogner Park with the famous Vigelandsanlegget or “Vigeland Sculpture Arrangement”. There are about 60 bronze sculptures all around the park that show people doing different things. I also some ducks sitting on a frozen pond and I tried to ask them if they were cold but no one answered me. After walking around the park I started to get really hungry so we left to eat some traditional Norweigian food. I had food that I had never eaten before like mashed peas, meat cakes, and brown gravy. Even though I was really hungry my stomach was filled after a couple bites!
Ha det bra Travelers,
Flat Jacob

December 8, 2012Hej Travelers,
Just took a bus from Oslo to Gothenburg, Sweden. It was really weird because we left Oslo at around 3:30 pm but the sun was already going down! I think that's why Scandinavia is cold during the winter because they only have about 6 hours of sun. The first thing we did in Gothenburg was go to their Christmas markets. Gothenburg is famous for having a Christmas market trail where there are several miles of little stores that sell presents, clothes, hot chocolate, and lots of yummy food. They even have entertainment like the Singing Christmas Tree where a choir stands like a Christmas tree and sing Christmas songs. The choir sang songs in English and in Swedish. The best part was when everyone started clapping because everyone was wearing gloves wand it sounded funny. The main Christmas markets were in Liseberg Amusement Park and it looked like Disneyland with a lot of stores and Christmas treats. That night we had some traditional Swedish food with Swedish meatballs, cucumbers, ligenberries, and mashed potatoes. That might be my most favorite meal in all of Europe so far. In the morning I really wanted to make a snow angel so I did even though I only had one sock on. It was really cold! Wish you were here with me when I had breakfast because the waffles were so good and they reminded me of American waffles. I'll try to make some for you all when I see you.
Hej då,
Flat Jacob

Bonjour Travelers,
I know that in Belgium people speak either French or Dutch but since I only know some French I'll greet you in French. People from Brussels, Belgium don't think that it is a pretty city but I think that there is so much to do and see! The very first thing I did was have a Belgian waffle, of course! It was really good and it was covered in powdered sugar. I know it's not super healthy but it was so delicious. After breakfast Ate Clarisse and I walked around Brussels and we first say the Grand Place or their city hall. We also found Mannekin Pis which is Brussels' most famous statue where a boy is looking like he is using the bathroom! We also walked by Place de l'Albertine which is a garden area leading up to Brussels' many museums. The museum we went to was the surrealist artist Rene Magritte's museum. I really liked it but I did want to see the Belgian Comic Strip Center because comics were invented here in Belgium! The next day we met with my Ate Michelle who lives one hour away from Brussels. We all went to Mini Europe and the Atomium during our day together. Mini Europe is an amuseument park that shows all the countries of Europe as teeny-tiny buildings and structures. I got to see a mini Eiffel Tower and Leaning Tower of Pisa! I also made friends with other travelers like you and they were from Kenya and Romania! After Mini Europe we went to the Atomium which is a gigantic model of an atom. We went to the very top of the Atomium and we got to see all of Brussels at night! But after we had to walk so many stairs to get back down. I'm so tired! On to the next destination!
A tout a l'heure,
A tout a l'heure,
